How DraftKings Became Oregon's Only Online Sportsbook
When Oregon relaunched online sports betting in October 2019, the platform was operated by SBTech under the brand name "Scoreboard." In April 2020, DraftKings acquired SBTech as part of a SPAC merger, inheriting the Oregon contract. By January 2022, the app was rebranded and relaunched as DraftKings Sportsbook — a clean transition to the brand most American bettors already recognized.
Registration & Deposits
Unlike Nevada, Oregon allows full remote registration. You do not need to visit a casino to sign up. Provide your name, address, date of birth, and Social Security number. You must be 21+ and physically located in Oregon (verified via geolocation) to place bets.
Accepted deposit methods include debit card, online bank transfer, PayPal, prepaid card, and wire transfer. Minimum deposit is $5.
What You Can — and Cannot — Bet On
DraftKings Oregon offers all major professional sports markets: NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, UFC/MMA, golf, tennis, and auto racing.
However, college sports are completely prohibited — no Oregon Ducks, no Oregon State Beavers, no March Madness, no College Football Playoff. This is the most restrictive college policy in the entire United States and exists because Oregon Lottery proceeds fund state universities, creating a perceived conflict of interest.
Tax Treatment
